March 3, 2015—Seven CFISD schools are among the contestants in the Texas Association of School Boards (TASB) Texas Public Schools Rock! 2014-15 Student Video Contest.

The contest challenged schools to submit original videos between 30 seconds and 2 minutes in length that shared:

  • what makes their school exceptional;
  • how their school has earned the support of their community;
  • why Texans stand up for public schools; and
  • what makes Texas public schools the best choice.

The following schools are in the running to compete for $5,000 (first place) or $2,500 for the classroom in the elementary, middle school and high school categories:

      Elementary School

  • Sheridan Elementary School; and
  • Warner Elementary School.

      Middle School

  • Aragon Middle School; and
  • Campbell Middle School.

      High School

  • Cypress Woods High School;
  • Jersey Village High School; and
  • Langham Creek High School.

Visitors to the Texas Public Schools Rock! video contest gallerycan vote for their favorite video between March 1-7 by watching the video to conclusion. The first- and second-place winners will be announced in late March.

We are proud to have schools represented in each category at the elementary and secondary levels,” said Stephanie Migl, CFISD director of communication. “This video contest allowed our students to showcase their creativity as they expressed what makes their schools so special. We look forward to getting the CFISD community involved by encouraging them to go online to vote for our public schools.”
